India (DLN): Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has issued Geologists Exam 2011 Notification. Geologists Exam 2011 will be started from 3rd December, 2011. UPSC Online applications will be open from 20 Aug to 19 September, 2011.
Exam will be conducted for recruitment to the posts of Geologist, group ‘A’ in the Geological Survey of India and Junior Hydrogeologist (Scientist ‘B’), Group ‘A’ and Assistant Hydrogeologist, Gr ‘B’ in the central ground water board.
Educational qualification required is Master’s degree in Geology or Applied Geology or Marine Geology
OR Master’s degree in Mineral Exploration (for posts in Geological Survey of India only)
OR Master’s degree in Hydrogeology (for posts in central ground water board only)
OR Diploma of Associateship in Applied Geology of the Indian School
Age limit is 21-32 years on 1st January, 2011.
For filling online application, candidates are required to pay fee of Rs.100 either by cash in any Branch of SBI or by using net banking facility of SBI or by using Visa/Master Credit/Debit card. No fee for Female/SC/ST candidates
Candidates from remote areas given in para 6 of the notice and applying offline with Common Application form are required to pay a fee Rs.200 through a single Central Recruitment fee stamp.
